"You knew I would come, didn't you?"
as long as you're cool with bb!Luke icons and the fact we don't know what went down
Totally fine with it!
She had so many questions, and Rey knew he was the one who would have the answers. Whether or not he willingly shared them was up to, well, him.
"I heard your voice before I knew it belonged to you."

"I should have been there for you," he said. "You shouldn't have had to wonder."

"How long have you known?"
no subject
He allows himself, and Rey, a slight smile. Because it's a reunion much longed for, no matter the circumstances.
"I am so, so sorry."

Anyway, when people stopped to stare at her, sometimes, she could sink hooks into their minds from where she lay.
You want to come into the show. You want to drink and tip the dancing girls...
It was surprisingly easy.
Which made it all the more confusing when she found that she couldn't penetrate the mind of a boy, one who didn't even look old enough to shave, let alone patronize Pryce's den. She had no idea who he was or what he was doing in a disgusting dive like this, but she found herself trying again and again to brush against his mind.

When he found it, he couldn't help but blush--and also furrow his brow in amused disbelief.
Is that the best you can think of to do with your powers?

She resumed her provocative pose, looking at passing men and women from under her heavy eyelashes.
But her mind wandered out again...
How did you do that?
no subject
How do you?

I don't know. She thought it back to him with, perhaps, a wistful manner of thinking. I just do.

It's called the Force. And you're... very strong.
Even he doesn't do this much, but that's partly because he hasn't met many Force telepaths.
It's in and around every living thing. Some of us... can focus it.

Maya had heard of it. But in the same way she'd heard of fairy tales. No one she knew put much stock in it. Except for her senile grandfather. But he'd been pretty far-gone by the time Maya got to know him.
Nuts. He'd been nuts.
It couldn't possibly be true. The boy was just messing with her, having a laugh at her expense...
no subject
He could understand people not believing in the Force when they'd never met anyone using it. But to dismiss it once you were aware of your own abilities?
no subject
But Maya was used to working with hustlers and thieves and con artists. She wasn't the type to accept something--anything--on faith. Especially the outdated nonsense of faith itself.
The simplest explanation was usually best. The simplest being that he was conning her.
But how? She'd only ever met one other person who could put thoughts into her head before. And he was a mute, ten-year-old kid. Not a lot of explanations there.
So. If she wanted an explanation...
Buy me.

Totally not yelling at his droid]
Tell me something I don't know!

That's when he comes across the X-Wing and the pilot, with a slightly unfamiliar flight suit and a very unfamiliar droid. Luke frowns--it's not like he's buddies with all of them, but he recognizes most of the pilots by sight, at this point.]
There a problem with your ship?

[he looked over at the hero and there is something about his face that is familiar, but he can't place it]

Another? [It'd be stupid to try that, he thinks. Never happen.] There was just the one? I... blew it up? [He winces at how pretentious that sounds but it's not like he's not proud of it. He's just kind of surprised the guy doesn't know.]

[what the hell... he looked over at BB-8 who was starting to whistle but talking too fast for him to get it. Something about the hyperspace jump...]

Try three days ago.

[he wasn't even born until two years after that battle. he's going to just turn to look at the droid]
Where the kriff did you take us, BB-8?
