[The battle's over and the celebration has begun to die down, and Luke's starting to find his footing again as he adjusts to being The One Who Destroyed the Death Star while they figure out their next moves, and he's casually avoiding his new-found fame by taking a walk, alone.

That's when he comes across the X-Wing and the pilot, with a slightly unfamiliar flight suit and a very unfamiliar droid. Luke frowns--it's not like he's buddies with all of them, but he recognizes most of the pilots by sight, at this point.]

There a problem with your ship?

There's a long list of problems, it seems. Nothing I can't fix, but this is the worst time for it to decide to break down on me.

[he looked over at the hero and there is something about his face that is familiar, but he can't place it]

Could be worse. [Luke shrugs.] That Death Star could still be on its way here. I'd say your timing's pretty good, all things considered.

[newgenwraith]

The... death star? When did they build another one?

[Luke's brow furrows. O-kay.]

Another? [It'd be stupid to try that, he thinks. Never happen.] There was just the one? I... blew it up? [He winces at how pretentious that sounds but it's not like he's not proud of it. He's just kind of surprised the guy doesn't know.]

No... no Luke Skywalker blew it up like, thirty years ago.

[what the hell... he looked over at BB-8 who was starting to whistle but talking too fast for him to get it. Something about the hyperspace jump...]

[Luke's eyebrows start to climb up under his bangs. This is... either someone's playing a bad prank on him, or this guy's crazy.]

Try three days ago.

... that's not possible.

[he wasn't even born until two years after that battle. he's going to just turn to look at the droid]

Where the kriff did you take us, BB-8?

You don't know you're on Yavin IV? But... you know I blew up the Death Star.

This isn't Yavin IV. I grew up on Yavin IV and this place... looks nothing like it.

[Luke isn't sure why he's being argued with, but obviously something's going on here.]

Maybe you... hit your head? Because I've been here awhile, I'm sure it's Yavin IV. Uh. What's your name?

Poe. Poe Dameron. [he reached up to rub his head] You'd think I would remember hitting my head.

[Luke frowns again in thought.]

I don't remember the name. But... I guess the Rebellion's not so small that I'd know everyone, yet.

[newgenwraith]

[mutters: this has to be a bad dream]

Alright, out of curiosity... what year is it?

[neverjoinyou]

[Okay, that's a bizarre question. But it's weird enough Luke's gonna humor it, for now.]

[And Luke gives him a year which... I cannot figure out how to notate since lol obviously they've not adopted a new dating system yet]

..... I'm not even born then. [and he's going to look at BB-8] Just what course did you plot for us and if there was a black hole involved...

You're saying you... traveled through time?

It's the only explanation I got. Beyond being in a really crazy dream

[and he will give a date about 30 years after the current date]

Ooo-kay.

[Well, he has to accept it, because everything he's reading off the guy says he's not lying. Not to mention the differences in tech, and flight suit.

Luke takes a deep breath.]

Right. I'm Luke Skywalker. We've just destroyed the Death Star. We're on Yavin IV.

[newgenwraith]

Well, it's nice to meet you, Sir. I'm Poe Dameron, Commander in the New Resistance.

[neverjoinyou]

[Luke waves a hand.]

Just Luke, please. I'm not... I'm just a pilot. [He frowns.] Wait. new resistance. To... do I want to know?

[Because he really, really doesn't want to think that what they're doing here doesn't matter.]

If I'm from the future, you probably shouldn't. I mean, if you knew, you'd change it and then I may not be born and that's a lot of "do not wanting" right there.
