If they want him, then they shouldn't get him. Yes, I'll help. Where is he?

She'd started moving her shoulders a little bit, giving the spies a show, making them think that she and Luke were getting down to business. It was awkward, to say the least.
But things were going to get way worse in a second. She just...had a bad feeling about it.
no subject
What are you doing? Are they watching?
Great. Reflexively, Luke put his arms around her. It was very awkward.
How do we get out?
no subject
As for getting out...that was complicated.
If we just walk out right now, they'll know we know they're watching...
no subject
What would you suggest?

She wondered if he could feel her fear outside. Probably. The kid had a way of doing that.
We go back to the club, she supposed. See if we can slip out in the crowd.
no subject
But how to put them off the scent? Still holding her close, Luke closed his eyes and sent his thoughts upward, a message in his mind.
You have seen all you need to see. There are other matters to attend to.
It took some concentration, and so when he opened his eyes, it was aloud he whispered quietly to Maya. "I may have distracted them, but only temporarily. We need to move, and we need to look as though we're through, here."

When his thoughts returned to her, she had to bite back something of a smile. It seemed pretty clear that he didn't know what it was supposed to look like when they were 'through here.'
Sorry about this.
She stomped down on his foot. Hard.

Luke yelped despite himself, frowning accusingly at her. "What was that for?" he hissed.

With that, she crossed the room to the bed, pulling off the top, silky green sheet to wrap around her chest.
Already, she was reaching out with her mind to find Yuri.
Get to the door. We have to run.

It's not like he'd never come before, why did everyone assume things?
But he refocused on the task at hand. "I'll keep them occupied as best I can," he muttered to her as they moved towards the door. "But we may have to make a break for it, if things go south."
no subject
She nodded slightly, finishing off a knot under her arm. "Where, exactly, are we making a break to?" she asked, because the details did matter a little bit. She was fine risking her own security, but Yuri's was another story.
Of course, the kid was a better judge of character than she was, she supposed. He'd know immediately if Luke couldn't be trusted.

"I have a ship," he said quietly, holding out his hand to her. "There's room for both of you."
I'm sorry. I put you and your brother in danger.
He put his hand to the door, reaching out to 'see' what lay beyond. Two people, at the end of the hall--he waited until they had rounded the corner and opened the door, drawing Maya after him.

We were always in danger.
She followed him to the door. Music from the club below assaulted them as soon as it opened. She recognized the song too. It was Memi's zero-gravity dance. At the very least, she could count on the club patrons to be thoroughly distracted.
The song lasts another minute in and a half. After that, they'll turn off the zero-g generator, the lights will shift completely up onto the stage, and Pryce will come out to pretend to auction off a girl.

He remembered what she'd said about going unnoticed, and kept her close, head bent near hers, as if to look more wrapped up in her than in anything going on around him. Naturally he was also casting a wide net with the Force, an extra sense to guide them as he tried to look like a boy wrapped up in a girl. A girl he'd bought, but whatever, he was sure a lot of outer rim boys had made similar mistakes. He curled one hand around her waist.
"Which way?" he murmured.

A wave of power--the Force, apparently--came rolling through the building. It was like heat radiating off of the sun. Maya had felt it hundreds of times, but it still always managed to catch her off guard. Especially when her mind was wrapped up in other things.
But there was no mistaking the feeling.
That's my brother. She had no doubt that Luke felt it too. Follow it.

It was an easy enough trail to follow, however, and the crowd was more than distracted enough for Luke to ease their way through the bodies with tiny nudges they didn't even notice, down and around towards the back of the building.
"Shh." He stopped, pulling Maya against him as, around another corner, he noticed the presences he'd felt earlier. He sent something in an opposite room tumbling down, and they moved that way, leaving the passage clear.

She grabbed his wrist and started to pull him faster through the crowd.
Up on the stage, Memi, a green-skinned Twi'lek wearing little more than some industrial netting, caught her eye. As much as Maya hated using her abilities on someone she considered a friend, she plowed straight into it nevertheless.
Come out into the crowd, let the men jostle around you.
Which was exactly what Memi did.
"Front door," Maya hissed to Luke, making a small gesture.

He was quite obviously not Maya's brother, although they were both Force sensitive and both human. That was where their similarities ended, really. He was barely over a meter tall. With dark skin and dark hair, ruffling slightly in the breeze. His mind reached out, grazing over Maya before turning to Luke. He didn't say anything, but he conveyed a sudden and immediate sense of trust.
And intense curiosity.
"There," Maya hissed. Yuri was already making his way toward them, but Maya held up a hand, halting him in his steps.
